Scott “Q” Marcus Teaches Us How to Sculpt

November 15, 2010

Scott "Q" Marcus leads members in a sculpting session

As the year rolls to an end, I find myself reflecting on what I’ve done to invest in my myself and my speaking career. To date, the best thing I’ve done for both is that I attended November’s meeting where Scott “Q” Marcus shared with us his tool called “Sculpting.”

Sculpting, to me, is both Donny and Marie* -– a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll (country being content and rock n’ roll being fun). Scott got us immediately involved in the exercises and showed us the direct applications on how we could use them in our presentations. I know I wasn’t the only person in the room who found this to be one of best sessions I’ve attended where I could walk out of the room and use the information right away.

If you missed being there, you missed something that was easy to implement, useful to use, and something that would get your audiences immediately engaged.

Thanks, Scott, for a great program and to our programming committee for bringing him in! I can’t wait to hear Kathleen Passinissi, CSP, CPAE and Lois Creamer in January! NSA Wisconsin has it going on!

Thanks for putting up the photo and talking about sculpting. It was great working with everyone and developing some sculpts with you. Spread the word and send me videos and photos of your sculpts. Stay in touch.
